Ice lollies on hot summer days

Do you ever have those days when you are really feeling low? Here's the antidote! Make up a list of 100 things that make you really happy! Here are some of mine (there are some that are far too personal)...I keep adding to the list...I haven't quite made it to 100 yet...

- Ice lollies ('popsicles' you call them in the States) on hot sunny days…or nights – particularly the feeling one gets when one has that very first slurpy lick!
- Waking up in the morning and looking out of my window to see a blue sky and sunshine (a rarity if you live in London!)
- Crisp, clean white bedclothes that smell faintly of laundry detergent
- The smell of clean washing
- Having a drowsy child fall asleep in my arms
- Reading/lazing in a warm patch of sunshine that comes through a window
- Cool, crisp sunny days
- The feeling one gets when one hits the exercise high
- Green and Black’s cocoa dusted almonds – YUM!
- The sounds and smells of the rainforest
- Phone calls from good friends
- Unplanned adventures
- Take away pizza with a lovely hot cup of tea (not too often – it’s the novelty of it that makes it so wonderful)
- Veggie Hot and Sour Soup
- Days in which I have been able to tick off all the things on my to do list AND go to the gym
- The delicious delight of anticipation in general
- The feeling I have when I fly in a plane to a new destination
- The moment after a sneeze
- Being woken up by my adorable niece (when I am visiting her) – this is the time of the day that she’s at her best!
- An evening out doing fun things with good friends - the kind that are punctuated with moments that can be classified as 'pure' happiness
- A deep and meaningful chat with a good friend
- The feeling of tiredness at the end of a productive day
- The smell of rain on hot, dry ground
- Walking along a sandy beach, where the sand meets the sea - the sensation of the smooth, wet sand into which my feet are sinking - and the delicious chill that runs up my spine when the waves splash against my ankles
- Flashes of enlightenment...few and far-between, in this busy world, but priceless nonetheless
- Hope, poking up like a brightly-coloured flower in a dull, grey landscape
